About Me

Hi! Thanks for coming to check out my website.

I first began thinking about World History and teaching in tenth grade when I took first took World History with Mr. William Casey at Chattahoochee High School. After that year, I decided that I wanted teach World History. Previously, I thought about archaeology, being a museum curator and a translator for the United Nations. However, the course stuck with me and I went to Mercer University to major in History.

I graduated from Mercer in 2006 with a degree in History and certification to teach “Broad-Field Social Studies. That means I can teach Geography, American History, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Government and World History. My first year teaching high school, I ended up teaching American History, Sociology and Psychology. My second year, I was able to teach World History and now, in my sixth year, I am teaching AP World History and Computing the Modern World.

This year at my school we’re trying some new, cool stuff with Project Based Learning for tenth graders learning World History, World Literature and Computer Science. I am INCREDIBLY excited about this project.

If you have any questions about my work, please don’t hesitate to email me or leave a comment on my blog.

Outside of academia, I am kind of a nerd. I love playing World of Warcraft, reading, web design and fashion. I get cranky if I can’t listen to NPR in the car and I love listening to sci-fi/fantasy audiobooks.  I got married last year to my awesome husband Mark, who loves eighteenth and nineteenth cenutry naval history. We like to fight about Napoleon.
